JOBSEEQR – July 2020 -> PRESENT

The weeks before coming up with JOBSEEQR, I was this spontaneous 19-year-old just looking for the smallest opportunity to put my coding skills to good use, and I stumbled upon this nonprofit in Lebanon that claimed they were working on a project aimed towards the betterment of people, and they were looking for a software developer, and I was excited because I thought to myself “oh this is what I’ve wanted to do my whole life, do something good for those in need, this is perfect!”

Long story short, the experience was short-lived because I discovered it was all a lie. Even better, it was a publicity stunt, and I would rather not get into that. But it sparked my desire to actually go out there and do something about the overall situation in the country. That’s how JOBSEEQR came to be.

July 19th, 2020: the day JOBSEEQR was born. These are my very first sketches of the platform. There’s no way you’ll possibly be able to read a word in this picture, and I’m truly sorry. Even my own mother, a master calligrapher, disowns me for my handwriting.

In my mind, and I’m sure a lot of you agree with me on this, our people are some of the most brilliant individuals anyone in the world could ever come across. Any of us can walk into any world-renowned company and find themselves employed in that company’s top positions like it’s nothing. 2.5 years and 450 employments later, I’m just as determined as ever to push this out there to the world for the betterment of our people and give them what they truly deserve.

JOBSEEQR Recruit – december 2022 -> PRESENT

I can’t lie, bringing in employers from around the world to the platform proved to be a much more difficult task than I first anticipated, especially because of their lack of understanding of the Lebanese job market in general.

After doing some thinking and some research, it became evident that the best way to tackle this is to create a recruitment service that aims to educate employers and make hiring Lebanese individuals appealing for them. Hence, that’s how I came up with JOBSEEQR Recruit.

It made all the difference in the world. Even though we’re still in the early days of JOBSEEQR Recruit’s existence, I’ve had more phone calls with people around the world than I could have possibly imagined back when I started JOBSEEQR.

My very first wireframes of JOBSEEQR Recruit, as shown in Figma. Like every idea, some elements stayed, others were eliminated, and better features were added. For instance, I remodeled the “Candidates” and “Shortlists” pages, and scrapped the “Interview Schedule” page. This was also before I sealed the partnership with Omnipresent, which explains why the “Payroll” page isn’t there.

From the depths of despair, I created a solution out of nothing. As you’re putting your idea or initiative out there to the world, there will be instances when you find your back against the wall and everything seems to be going against you, it’s inevitable. Never let them discourage or consume you, no matter how hard the situation seems. Keep your composure, put your mind to it, and find a way. There is always a way.

Merit-based scholarship fund – Undergoing registration

For the longest of time, I wanted to start a nonprofit, but never knew where to look. Recently, I came to the realization that we don’t have many (that is, if we even have) a nationwide, well-established scholarship fund for kids and adolescents in place that is accessible for all.

I’ve been able to establish relations with a handful of Lebanese diaspora networks, as well as many Lebanese individuals all around the world, and so, I want to be able to leverage that in order to provide our children and their families with much needed economic relief and help the kids continue pursuing a proper education.

I’m currently waiting on the registration process of the organization to work on a landing page and donation system, but, once things get clearer, I will develop it and include the link here!
